Some tricks for putting faces on the people in your urban sketches.
Part of the SF Bay Area Urban Sketchers 10x10 series for 2020.

Getting the faces to match the bodies in your sketches is hard! We tend to freeze up, put in too much detail and get the proportions all wrong. In this workshop we’ll look at some hacks for getting it right, including:
• Using props like hats, glasses, hairstyle and beards to indicate head angle and fudge mistakes
• Tricks for fixing the body-face proportions when you mess up
• Some ways that facial features and proportions can vary with age and race.
The goal is to build on the sketching style you already have, so you’ll be working with your usual sketching kit.
